As a newly licensed and practicing therapist, I’m convinced there is a rising need for more body-based treatment methods in mental health care. My goal is to create a therapy space where people can become more in tune with themselves and the world around them. While including the familiar elements of traditional psychotherapy, I seek to offer sessions that promote deeper awareness and use of the mind-body connection.
My approach to therapy combines neuroscience, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care with the firm belief that every person can heal from their past and experience deep and profound meaning in their day-to-day life. In addition to somatic therapy sessions, I also work with couples who are committed to doing the difficult but highly rewarding work of building their relationship into something that can last.
While acknowledging that life is hard and the human struggle is very real, I also believe that therapy does not always have to be so serious. Imagination, play, and art are not confined to the lives of children and can be therapeutic for adults too. As clients gradually move from a state of doubt to self-acceptance, it is my hope that they would grow to experience other things as well, including peace, contentment, resilience, and joy.
